Agaricus mushroom(Agaricus blazei Murill)
originates from Piedade, which is located in the highlands
on the outskirts of Son Paulo, Brazil. Agaricus was first noticed about thirty years ago when two
researchers from Penn. State University of USA visited Piedade and
discovered that the natives were very healthy with
low rates of disease and that a disproportionately high number enjoyed
longevity. Many scientists conducted studies that have shown the Agaricus
mushroom to be an immune system stimulant, which promote the body's natural
defense mechanism to fight a variety of
infectious agents, including cancer. Clinical results, obtained in collaboration
with University researchers and hospitals, proved that the polysaccharides of
Agaricus mushroom was effective against several kinds of cancer and also
activated metabolism by revitalizing normal biological tissue.
Immune System Stimulant
The active constituents have been identified as
the polysaccharide-protein complexes called Beta-1,6-D-glucan and an almost
identical chemical, Beta-1,3-D-glucan. Agaricus blazei is by far the richest
natural source of Beta-1,6-D-glucan and Beta-1,3-D-glucan yet discovered.
These polysaccharides are strong macrophage activators and work through the "glucan
receptor" sites on the surface of these immensely important immune cells.
Macrophages are our first line of defense and play a pivotal role in our immune
response to any attack by intruders.
Macrophages are the immune cells that recognize, engulf and destroy organisms,
cells, and substances that don't belong in the body, including viruses,
bacteria, yeast, heavy metals, pollutants, bits of dead tissue, mutated cells,
and tumor cells. They take on any challenge and further stimulate the immune
system to respond.
Macrophages ignite intercellular communication by releasing chemical messengers
called cytokines (interferon and interleukin). These cytokines are powerful
proteins responsible for catalyzing and regulating several immune responses
within the body. Agaricus blazei extracts have been proven to stimulate the
production of these cytokines.
Macrophages travel from the site of their first contact with an intruder or
toxin to the lymph system, where it communicates with T-cells, activating a
specific immune response. Specific antibodies are then built to combat the
intruder. Agaricus blazei helps to stimulate and enhance this essential immune
response.
Other Benefits:
Preventative effect:
Agariguc Mushroom contains large
amounts of non digestive dietary fibers that absorb cancerous materials in our
body and discharge away from our system. Agaricus blazei prevents normal
cells from becoming cancerous cells. The mushroom shows a remarkable cancer
prevention rate of 99.4%.
Blood glucose reducing effect:
Effective elements such as Beta(1-3)D-glucan & Beta(1-6)D-glucan protein
compounds, ribonucleic acid protein compounds also has positive effects to
reduce the blood glucose(sugar).
Blood pressure, Cholesterol & Arteriosclerosis reducing
effect: Dietary fiber and unsaturated fatty acid,
such as linolin, contained in Agaricus Mushroom, have effects to reduce blood pressure,
cholesterol and arteriosclerosis.
Vitamin D2 effect:
Agaricus Mushroom contains vitamin B1 and
B2 but also contains large amounts of ergosterol, which would be converted to
vitamin D2 when it is dried in the sun or heated in a mechanical drying process.
Vitamin D2 has positive effects to lessen the danger of osteoclasis.
